Tufia (Telde).

TELDE

The Tufia beach, in Telde, is one of those hidden places in Gran Canaria where you will find peace and quiet and a setting with a special charm. This beach of fine dark sand is surrounded by an almost secret environment, with small white houses that seem to hang from the cliff. The water is crystal clear, perfect for a refreshing dip or for snorkelling and discovering the marine life hidden among its rocky seabed.
Moreover, the environment is relaxed and authentic, ideal if you are looking for a place off the beaten tourist track to disconnect and enjoy the sea in peace.

On the other side of Tufia beach you will find the beach of Aguadulce, where a quiet and welcoming place awaits you, ideal for disconnecting. It is a sandy beach with a natural environment that invites you to relax and enjoy the sea. The waters are clean and calm, perfect for swimming and cooling off in a peaceful atmosphere. In addition, its somewhat hidden location makes it a less frequented spot, ideal for those looking for a more private day at the beach, surrounded by the beauty of the Canarian coast and without the crowds typical of other more touristy areas.

Pictures of Tufia beach

Between the beach of Tufia and the nearby beach of Aguadulce, there is an archaeological site. It is made up of a group of caves from which stone houses sometimes protrude, revealing that ‘something’ that makes the village so peculiar.

Its status as a site is due to the Provincial Commissioner for Archaeological Excavations Sebastián Jiménez Sánchez in 1944, thanks to whom it was declared a Historic and Artistic Monument in 1973, under the name of Ruinas del Poblado Prehistórico de Tufia.

Access

Access to Tufia beach is easy but involves walking down a concrete ramp that descends from the nearby car park. The path is short and easy to walk to the beach, which adds a touch of adventure to this picturesque coastal spot.

On the other hand, the descent to the beach of Aguadulce is done on a dirt path with a low difficulty, but you have to be careful with the slips that we can give down.

Diving is the main activity on both beaches.

Diving in Tufia is an incredible experience due to the clarity of its waters and the richness of its marine life. Its rocky seabed is home to a wide variety of marine species, such as colourful fish, octopus and other inhabitants of the Atlantic, making it a popular destination for both beginners and experienced divers. In addition, the natural protection of the bay guarantees safe and pleasant conditions for exploring this underwater paradise in Gran Canaria.

If you want to practice scuba diving or want to have a first experience we leave you some options that you can hire. Attention! the option of DIVING for EXPERIENCED divers is not in this beach but in other places in the south of the island.
